Darien EMS is a Health & Safety Institute (HSI) Approved Training Center. We have two volunteer instructors who are authorized to teach a wide range of classes including CPR/AED for all ages, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP), and Basic Life Support (CPR/AED for Healthcare Providers).

Darien EMS is providing CPR/AED training that is free to members of our community. Every second counts during a cardiac arrest and taking action is crucial while waiting for first responders.

  • Maximum class size is 16.

  • Pre-registration is required.

  • This class is for educational purposes only and will not have written exams. CPR Certifications will not be provided.

Is HSI training accepted by New York State?

HSI CPR/AED Training is accepted by New York State for Healthcare Providers, NYS Children’s Camps, and NYS Bathing Facilities. This list is not exhaustive. Your employer may have requirements that differ from New York State.

Do HSI programs meet the same standards as AHA classes?

These programs reflect the latest resuscitation science and treatment recommendations published by the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) and conform with the 2020 American Heart Association (AHA) Guidelines.
